Overcoming Anxiety and Panic Attacks with Panic Away – My Honest Opinion
Posted on 23. Mar, 2011 by Matthew.
Hey Matthew here,
If you’re looking for the best way to treat anxiety and panic attacks, then I’m glad that you’ve found Anxiety Support Groups as I’d like to be of some help to fellow sufferers.
Over the years I have dealt with panic attacks and anxiety since I was a child and have trailed several supposed treatments that have claimed to cure but only masked the problem, and in some cases exacerbated the problem. I inadvertently came across this website guaranteeing to cure panic attacks and anxiety naturally. Being skeptical about internet products I researched it with intent of busting another dodgy scam, but I actually came to find that it seemed credible; having been featured on TV, having positive reviews, and actually being advertised on more than one source. So in my ongoing quest of vanquishing my ails I purchased this program called Panic Away.

Panic Away – Anxiety & Panic Attacks Review
What I found is that this product was devised by a former panic attack sufferer, Barry McDonagh, whom developed a completely natural technique called “The One Move”, that he claims will eliminate panic attacks and general anxiety disorders within ‘minutes’. And being one of the most widely used self-help panic attack and anxiety treatments available, it has to be doing something right!
The whole purpose of this treatment is to eliminate the use of medication. I found the information provided in the pack is presented in an easy to follow format, as well as feeling like Barry is there supporting you every step of the way. “The One Move” technique is designed to break the cycle of panic attacks and diminish anxiety. This technique is also applied at tackling different scenarios including public speaking, driving with panic attacks, anxiety attacks from the fear of leaving home – and one of my favorites - fear of flying.
After using this product my anxiety levels have gone down at work, which has been great, especially with the high levels of pressure that my industry puts on me. But I believe that only when you are prepared and willing to contribute the time and effort (which you already have, or else you wouldn’t have found my site) on practicing the technique Barry teaches you. I have found amazing results in a short period of time, but don’t be fooled into thinking that you can simply read the book in one sitting and be instantly cured. I had to apply what I learnt to start seeing results, but due to my extensive history of dealing with anxiety it will take me a little longer to completely treat my anxiety disorder, despite my childhood psychiatrist telling my parents I’d never be fully rid of them. But I believe I am off to a great start and on my way to finally ending the pain of dealing with panic attacks and anxiety.

My Story with Panic Attacks
At the age of 6 I remember my father taking my brother and I, Owen, to the movies. We were in the car and got about halfway there before I started to feel sick and got my father to pull over. As the car came to a halt, I thought I was going to vomit but nothing happened. I started to panic and my father ended up turning the car around and headed home. Once got home I was fine. Not realizing what is was, my parents were in dismay of my behavior.
Over the years I had encountered several more of these weird occurrences. At the age of 9 my parents eventually took me to a children’s psychiatrist, subsequently I was diagnosed with Agoraphobia. We had tried everything from hypnotherapy to medication, both medical and natural, one particular herbal anxiety remedy I had been taking was St. John’s Wort. It seemed to have been effective for me for a little amount of time, but like most instances of taking medication, I surpassed the point of which the medication was effective and relapsed into a state which was worse than before. My relapse caused an increase of panic attacks, which consequently took me a couple of months to get back to a more stable path. My parents had put me back in to anxiety support groups and psychiatrists to get me back on track, which cost them hundreds of dollars.
During my teenage years I had a very rough time with my anxiety attacks, which caused me to miss a lot of school; in fact, I missed out on half a year of grade 8 and grade 9. These two years of schooling were also interrupted by my parents’ change of work and having to relocate house, which eventuated in the changing of schools 3 different times. So it made my transitions difficult especially with my peers not understanding my condition. By grade 10 I had started at a new school which I was able to finish a whole year at without any major distracting incidents. However, due to our family relocating yet again, I moved schools again for my senior years and finally graduated. After graduating I met this girl, Louise (now my wife), who turned my world upside down – in a good way! After a few months of dating I had finally told her about my anxiety disorder, which initially she was a bit weirded out by, but made an effort to understand. A year ago Louise and I were on holidays, and in our hotel whilst eating dinner all of a sudden a panic attack occurred; it was the worst one I had ever faced. My wife, whom has dealt with my panic attacks over the past 7 years, was very concerned about this attack in particular.
Anxiety Support Groups, I have found, provide help with anxiety but are not a permanent treatment. But the best support I have found over the past seven glorious years has been my wife, and without her understanding and support I doubt I’d have a better control over my panic attacks as I do now. I still experience attacks on most days, the level of severity differing, however I am coping with anxiety and panic attacks a hell of a lot better these days! But when I do get the occasional severe panic attack, it literally cripples me.
Even though I have more control over my anxiety attacks these days, I still just want to be rid of them. I am currently trialling this program that claims to naturally cure panic attacks and anxiety attacks. I will let you know my thoughts in my next post.

Panic Attacks Symptoms
Posted on 13. Mar, 2011 by Matthew.
I myself, along with a few members of my family, suffer from panic attacks and general anxiety disorder. I personally know the fear and trauma of experiencing a panic attack; it is one of the most intensely frightening, upsetting and uncomfortable experiences I have experienced in my life.
My sister, Jayne, who had her first panic attack a few weeks ago said to me, “Matty, it was horrible. I locked myself in my room, stayed in bed under the covers and could not move, it was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced”.
What is a Panic Attack?
A panic attack is a sudden occurrence of an intense attack of fear for a relatively brief duration.
How long does a Panic Attack last?
The duration of a panic attack can vary depending on the situation, they can reach their peak within 10 minutes and can be as short as 20 seconds, which can occur in cycles lasting for extended periods, sometimes even hours.
What can trigger or cause Panic Attacks?
- Feeling short of breath or in some cases cannot breath.
- Fearing an oncoming heart attack or a nervous breakdown (first timers generally experience this).
- A fear or sense of dying which can leave sufferers with a feeling of ‘going crazy’.
- Faintness and/or nausea. This is usually due to the sheer physical and mental exertion caused by a panic attack.
- Fight-or-Flight Response.
- Hereditary – This applies to some long-term sufferers. (Unfortunately both sides of my family have history with panic disorders, myself and my uncle are the long-term sufferers.)
- Locations of past attacks – Panic attacks can be brought on by the fear of a previous attack that has occurred in a certain place.
- Phobias
- Alcohol, drugs and some medications – Attacks can also occur from withdrawals of these substances.
- Illness (When I have a bad cold/flu it can trigger panic attacks where I experience trouble breathing and my throat feeling like it is going to close up).
- The feeling of being choked. (As a result of this I have trouble wearing ties or anything close to my neck – Thank god for V-Neck Shirts!)
I hope this post has given a bit more of an insight to the causes of panic attacks. Stay tuned to Anxiety Support Groups.
